Ball is the daughter of Robert and Catherine Slatinsky. She is the athletic director at a Southern California middle school. While in college, she met LaVar Ball, who is a retired American professional football player. "I transferred from Washington State and saw her in the hall. Wow. She knocked me off my feet. I stopped her in the hall and said: ‘I don’t know what we’re going to do together, but we’re gonna do something.’ She was like, ‘is this guy cocky or what?’
The couple got married and she gave birth to three sons Lonzo (b. 1997), LiAngelo (b. 1998), and LaMelo (b. 2001). Lonzo is currently a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, while LiAngelo is a shooting guard for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team, and LaMelo is a junior point guard at Chino Hills High School.
In August 2017, Ball and her family premiered in their Facebook reality show, Ball In The Family.
