Tina Ball (née Slatinsky; born December 11, 1967) is an American former college basketball player who played for the Cal State Los Angeles Golden Eagles women's basketball team and is the wife of media personality LaVar Ball. She is also the mother of current NBA player Lonzo Ball.

Basketball Career Edit

Ball was a four-year varsity basketball letter winner at Alta Loma High School in Alta Loma, California where she was a All-Baseline League pick as a senior. She averaged 15.8 points and 18.2 rebounds. Ball was one of top basketball prospects in high school and she chose to attend California State University, Los Angeles. She finished her career ranking eighth in points (935), eighth in field goals made (541), fifth in field goal attempts (1165), fourth in rebounds (627), fifth in blocks (60), eighth in free throws made (120), and seventh in free throws attempted (208).

Personal Life Edit

Ball is the daughter of Robert and Catherine Slatinsky. She is the athletic director at a Southern California middle school. While in college, she met LaVar Ball, who played football at the school. "I transferred from Washington State and saw her in the hall. Wow. She knocked me off my feet. I stopped her in the hall and said: ‘I don’t know what we’re going to do together, but we’re gonna do something.’ She was like, ‘is this guy cocky or what?’

The couple got married in 1996 and she gave birth to three sons Lonzo (b. 1997), LiAngelo (b. 1998), and LaMelo (b. 2001). Lonzo is currently a point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, while LiAngelo and LaMelo play basketball for the Vytautas Prienai–Birštonas of the Lithuanian Basketball League.

In August 2017, Ball and her family premiered in their Facebook reality show, Ball In The Family. She currently is recovering from a stroke that she suffered on February 21, 2017
