Va’shaundya Karlette "Shaunie" O'Neal (née Nelson; born November 27, 1974) is an American television personality, entrepreneur, philanthropist and current executive producer of VH-1’s reality TV series, Basketball Wives, Basketball Wives LA, and Baller Wives.
Career[]
O'Neal is one of the executive producers of Basketball Wives, a reality series that follows the wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of professional basketball players. Another reality television show, Basketball Wives LA, follows the Los Angeles wives, ex-wives, and girlfriends of professional basketball players. O'Neal is the center of a third reality television series, Shaunie's Home Court, a reality series that follows the lives of her five children and family
Personal life[]
O'Neal was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas. Her first son Myles Nelson, was born on May 8, 1997. On December 26, 2002, she married NBA player Shaquille O'Neal at the Beverly Hills Hotel. When O’Neal met Shaunie Nelson, things seemed to be falling apart. Both were engaged after dating for two years, and two years later they got married.
Before and during their marriage, the couple had four children: Shareef Rashaun (b. 2000), Amirah Sanaa (b. 2001), Shaqir Rashaun (b. 2003), and Me’arah Sanaa (b. 2006), and Shaq has a daughter, Taahirah, with his former girlfriend Arnetta Yardbourgh. Shaquille and Shaunie O'Neal separated after five years of marriage on September 4, 2007, but reconciled shortly after. On November 10, 2009, Shaunie filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences". The divorce was finalized in 2011.
Shaunie Was Previously Married To A Man Named Daven Lamar Baptiste With Whom She Had Her Oldest Child Son Myles With. Shaunie Met Shaquille O'Neal When She Was Still Married To Daven, She Started Having An Affair With Shaquille And Eventually Her And Daven Divorced And She And Shaq Officially Began Dating.
