LeBron Raymone "Bronny" James Jr. (born October 6, 2004) is an American basketball player, and is best known for being the oldest son of Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James.
James was born October 6, 2004, to National Basketball Association player LeBron James and Savannah Brinson. Both of his parents were athletes in high school; LeBron played basketball and football and Savannah played softball and was a cheerleader. His father was 19 turning 20 and his mother was 18, when she gave birth to him on October 6, 2004. He has two siblings: Bryce and Zhuri.
Bronny James has been the subject of local and national media attention, and he led his AAU level basketball team to the fourth grade national championship. James showcased his highlight-ready skill set with a pair of performances in The League Dallas/Hype Sports Summer Jam. The younger James dazzled fans of the, seriously, fourth-grade AAU team, driving the lane and draining shots like he was already competing in the NBA. He’s already earned a handful of MVP honors and, when he’s able to get courtside, his father certainly likes what he sees.
Something LeBron doesn’t like? The recruitment rumors already surrounding his 10-year-old son. As a former No. 1 overall pick and highly sought college basketball recruit, the elder James certainly understands the business of NCAA hoops. He just doesn’t understand why the NCAA seems to, already, want his son.
LeBron discussed his son’s recruitment with ESPN earlier this season:
"My son is going to be a kid as long as he can be. That’s all he needs to worry about. He loves to play the game of basketball, he loves to play video games, he loves to do his homework. That’s all that matters. Everything else doesn’t matter. He loves his brother, his sister, his dad, his mom, his grandmom. Let him be a kid."
