Amber Cherie Roberson (born January 24, 1990) is an American professional indoor volleyball player for Al Wasl SC club. She played college volleyball for University of Texas and is the older sister of current NBA player André Roberson.

Career

High School

A three-sport letterwinner at Wagner High School where she played volleyball for former Longhorn and four-time All-American Demetria Sance Padgitt.She was a two-time first team all-state, all-region dream team and all-conference. As a junior, she paced Wagner attack in its first varsity season, leading the club with 365 kills on .313 hitting and adding 241 digs and 23 solo blocks, and headlined Wagner in 2007 with a team-best 554 kills and 322 digs She played club volleyball for the 18 Kaepa Alamo Volleyball club. In addition to basketball, she also participated in basketball and track, lettering in both sports, and earning all-state honors in both sports.She was also an excellent student, earning High Academic Honors as a senior and was a member of the National Honor Society.

College

She played college women's volleyball at University of Texas. During her four years at Texas, the Lady Longhorns a great 110-17 record (.866), runner-up in 2009, advanced to three Final Fours and won three Big-12 Conference titles. Roberson's best season was her junior year when she tallied 290 kills and 182 digs.

International

Roberson was selected to the 19-member 2008 U.S. Women's Junior National Volleyball Training Team in the Spring of 2008 with Texas teammate Michelle Kocher and trained with the USA Youth National A2 team in the summer of 2007.

Personal Life

Roberson comes from a family of athletes. Both of her parents John and Lisa were All-Americans in their respective sports during college at New Mexico State. Her mother is white and her father is African-American. She has six siblings: Ashlee, André, Arielle, Anthony, Aaliyah and Arianna. Other than her two youngest sisters who have not yet reached college age, all of the Roberson children played or are currently playing basketball: Ashlee played small forward at Texas Tech; André is a member of the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder; Arielle played power forward at Colorado University; and Anthony plays shooting guard for Central Oklahoma.
