Amber Cherie Roberson (born January 24, 1990) is an American professional indoor volleyball player. She is a 1.88 m (6 ft 2 in) outside hitter. She is the older sister of current NBA player André Roberson.

Personal Life

Roberson is the oldest daughter of John and Lisa Roberson She has four sisters, Ashlee, Arielle, Aaliyah and Arianna and two brothers, André and Anthony. Her father played collegiate basketball at New Mexico State (1985-89) before going on to play professionally overseas and her mother played volleyball at New Mexico State (1985-89). Other than the two youngest siblings who have not yet reached college age, all the Roberson children are current or former NCAA Division I athletes.

Career

High School

A three-sport letterwinner at Wagner High School where she played volleyball for former Longhorn and four-time All-American Demetria Sance Padgitt.She was a two-time first team all-state, all-region dream team and all-conference. As a junior, she paced Wagner attack in its first varsity season, leading the club with 365 kills on .313 hitting and adding 241 digs and 23 solo blocks, and headlined Wagner in 2007 with a team-best 554 kills and 322 digs She played club volleyball for the 18 Kaepa Alamo Volleyball club In addition to basketball, she also participated in basketball and track, lettering in both sports, and earning all-state honors in both sports.She was also an excellent student, earning High Academic Honors as a senior and was a member of the National Honor Society.

College

Rivers attended University of Texas on a volleyball scholarship. While there she was selected as an All-American her junior year. While at Texas her school's volleyball team won over 90% of its matches, posting a 100-20 overall record.

International

Selected to the 19-member 2008 U.S. Women[apos]s Junior National Volleyball Training Team in the Spring of 2008 with Texas teammate Michelle Kocher ... trained with the USA Youth National A2 team in the summer of 2007.
